WordPress: Unable to Upload Images to Posts

Have you seen this error message when trying to upload an image to a post?

  • Unable to create directory /path/to/uploads/2012/12
This issue can be fixed in the WordPress Dashboard.

  1. When logged in to the Dashboard, click "Settings", then "Media".
  2. Put a checkmark next to the box marked "Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders."
  3. Select "Save Changes".
