POP3, IMAP, and SSL

POP3, IMAP, and SSL

To use secure email connections with SSL, you will need to replace your normal "mail.domain.com" URL with the hostname of the server.

How to Find Your Server's Secure Hostname

  • Shared web hosting: In cPanel, click "Email Accounts" under the Email section. Find the account you wish to configure your mail client to use, and click "CONNECT DEVICES" next to it. Your hostname can be found as the Incoming and Outgoing Servers listed in the "Secure SSL/TLS Settings (Recommended).
  • Reseller hosting: In WHM, click "Server Information". Scroll down to "System Information". You will find the secure server URL listed under "System Information".
  • Dedicated server: You will need an SSL Certificate installed for secure email connections. Please submit a ticket.

Secure Ports
Be certain that your computer's firewall isn't blocking these ports.

Incoming Ports

  • Secure IMAP: port 993
  • Secure POP3: port 995

Outgoing Port

  • Secure SMTP: port 495
