MySQL Collating

Using phpMyAdmin you can change the collation of databases.

  1. In cPanel, click the phpMyAdmin icon.
  2. Choose the database you wish the alter from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the "Operations" tab.
  4. Find the collation option. You can change the collation from the dropdown menu.

Note: This will only affect new tables created after the collation change. To get around this problem, re-install or edit old tables and their fields. Anything installed will pick up the new collation.
