Lost osCommerce Password

If you've forgotten your administrative password for your osCommerce site, you can reset the password this way.

  1. In cPanel, click "phpMyAdmin".
  2. Find the osCommerce database in the menu on the left side of the page. It is probably named "_osc1", and click it.
  3. Select the table on the left side of the page named "Administrators".
  4. For for the tab called "Empty" and select it.
  5. When you are asked "Do you really want to TRUNCATE TABLE 'administrators'?", click OK.
  6. Navigate to your osCommerce site, and try to log in to the administrative area. You will get a message that there is no user.
  7. Enter the user name and password that you wish to use, and click "Login".
  8. The name and password you entered will now be the administrative login.
