Clearing the Browser Cache Print

  • 100

Browsers cache, or store, copies of pages you visit. That way, when you revisit the page, your browser can serve up your cached copy rather than requesting it across the internet. This speeds up the local browsing experience. The drawback of this is that your cached page may be outdated, and it can take 24-72 hours to refresh a page in the cache. If you have updated pages on your website, but you are unable to see the changes when you browse to the page, it may be a cached page you're viewing rather than the updated page. To fix this, you can clear out your cached pages.
