Using the phpBB Administration Control Panel, you will be able to create, modify, and delete user groups, as well as modify and delete users.


Modifying Users

  1. Log in to the Administration Control Panel.
  2. Click "Manage users" on the left hand menu.
  3. Enter the name of the user you wish to modify. If you don't know the user name by memory, you can use the "Find a member" function.
  4. In the user modification page, you are able to see information about the account as well as make changes to the account.
  5. The "Basic tools" dropdown menu will allow you to ban by username, email, or IP; deactivate the account; delete the user's signature or avatar; move or delete all their posts; delete their attachments; empty their PM outbox; or reactivate the account.
  6. The final section of the Administrative user control panel allows you to delete the user or delete the user's posts. These changes are irreversible.



Groups
phpBB has seven pre-defnined groups. Administrators, Bots, Global moderators, Guests, Newly registered users, Registered users, Registered COPPA users. You can also create your own user groups.

Creating or Modifying User Groups

  1. Log in to the Administration Control Panel.
  2. Click "Manage Groups" on the left hand menu.
  3. In the field underneath the "User Defined Groups" list, enter the name for your new group, and click "Submit".
  4. In the group editing page, you are able to modify the group you have have created. The first section is 'Group details', wherein you can enter a description for the group, select which permissions to use for the group, and the type of group (which affects which users are able to see or join the group).
  5. In the 'Group wide options', you can determine who can manage the group, where the group is visible, and whether or not the group should be able to recieve private messages.
  6. Under the 'Group wide settings' section, you can set group private message limits, the maximum number of recipients per private message, the group color, and the group's rank.
  7. In the last section, 'Group avatar', you can set the avatar image for the group.
  8. When you're finished modifying the group, click "Submit".
