SSL Certificates and Cloudflare Print

  • 2

While NixiHost generally recommends using NixiHost-provided nameservers to allow your cPanel account full DNS control and simplify your own management overhead, we are aware that some customers may wish to use Cloudflare's DNS service rather than ours. If you would like to use Cloudflare's DNS service and continue securing your domain with SSL certificates, you will need to choose between two options: NixiHost-provided Let's Encrypt SSLs, and Cloudflare's own provided SSLs.

  • If you would like to use NixiHost-provided Let's Encrypt SSLs, you will need to disable Cloudflare's proxying service. You can do this by ensuring that you have only gray cloud icons next to your DNS records. This will also prevent any problems with mail clients trying to connect to a proxied Cloudflare IP rather than your server IP.

  • If you require Cloudflare's proxying service, you will need to use Cloudflare's own SSL certificates. You can set your Cloudflare Encryption mode to either Flexible or Full, depending on your preferences.

If you have any questions about this process, please take a screenshot of your complete Cloudflare DNS configuration and open a chat or a ticket with our Support team.
