Domain Does Not Resolve

Here are some tips for determining why your domain does not resolve as expected.

  • Add Files to the Document Root: If your document root is empty, your website isn't showing up because there is nothing to display.
  • Add the Domain to Your Control Panel: If your domain hasn't been added to the cPanel (or WHM), it won't work. This guide for addon domains might be helpful.
  • Point the DNS to the Hosting Account: Whether by MX records or A records, the DNS records must be present and exact, with no errors.
  • Verify the Domain Name is Registered: Often customers will forget to click the link in the domain name registration email confirming the registration. When this isn't done within a certain time period, the domain will not be usable.
