Using Softaculous to Create Staging Sites

Softaculous provides the ability to create staging sites and push changes from staging sites back to main installations with just a few clicks. This short guide will cover how to use the Softaculous staging function.

 

Create a Staging Site

  1. In cPanel, scroll down to the Software heading and click "WordPress Manager by NixiHost.com."
  2. Click the down arrow on the right side of the page next to the WordPress installation you wish to make a staging site for.
  3. Click the blue "Staging" button.
  4. Use the drop-down menu next to "Choose Installation URL" to select the domain, subdomain, and/or subdirectory you wish to place the staging site in.
  5. Click the blue "Create Staging" button at the bottom of the page.

 

Once you are satisfied with the changes you have made to your staging installation and are ready to apply those changes to your Live site, you can follow this three step guide:

Push Changes from Staging to Live Site

  1. In the WordPress Managemer tool, click the down arrow on the right side of the page next to your staging site.
  2. Click the blue "Push to Live" button.
  3. After the "Push To Live WordPress page loads, click the blue "Push to Live" button.
