MIME Types
Your browser uses MIME types to determine how to react to various file extensions. MIME types are often used to adapt to new innovations. Your browser knows what to do with .htm, .html, and .shtml because the text/html MIME type instructs it to interpret all these extensions as .html. MIME types can be added to your site through cPanel. If you wanted to make your site display .log filetypes as html, you would use the text/html MIME type, and in the "Extensions" field you would enter the extensions (.log) to be interpreted with that MIME type.
