Track DNS is a useful tool to help diagnose common website issues. You can use the Domain Lookup tool to verify that a domain name is registered and the DNS settings are correct, as well as the domain's IP address. Trace Route maps the connection route between your computer and your server, allowing you to pinpoint connection problems.
Using Domain Lookup and Trace Route
- In cPanel, find the "Advanced" section.
- Click "Track DNS".
- To use Domain Lookup, enter the domain you wish to obtain information about, and click "Look Up".
- To use Trace Route, click "Trace" underneath "Trace Route". If your account does not have permission to use trace route, you will see an error message.
