Addon Domains are domains that are added in your existing cPanel account. The files and content are all on the same server, disk space, and control panel. This is like having more than one hosting package that you can control from one control panel.
Note: While subdomains can be added to a domain without registering or changing name server records, addon domains must be registered and pointed to the server.
How Will Visitors See My Addon Domain?
Visitors will see your addon domain as an independent domain. There will be no references to the primary domain. This is different from a subdomain.

The addon domain will be associated with the primary domain by the username. The username will normally look like this: addonexampledomain@primaryexample.com
How Addon Domains Work
When you create an addon domain, three things result:
- A folder gets created in public_html
- A subdomain gets created for the primary domain, and is associated with the new folder in public_html
- Your new addon domain name is associated with the created subdomain.
Note: This means that you can access your new addon domain via three different addresses- primarydomain.com/addondomain, addondomain.primarydomain.com, and addondomain.com.
